The Department’s of Journalism and Mass communication participated in the annual Career & College fair organized by Sunshine Worldwide School, Old Goa. The event was organized on 21^st December, 2018 between 9.30am to 1.30 pm.

On behalf of the departments Mr. Nitin Volvoikar and Mr. Anzil Fernandes interacted with students and briefed them about the Journalism and Mass Communication courses available at the St. Xavier’s College. The fair was attended by over 280 learners of Classes 6 to 12 standard of Sunshine Worldwide School.

The Departments of Journalism and Mass Communication of St. Xavier’s College carried out consultancy service for the 9th edition of Goa Arts and Literature festival held at International Center Goa on 7th and 8th December, 2018. As part of the work, departments took up photography and Video filming for the sessions held on both the days during the festival. Besides teachers, students of both the departments also conducted 21 video interviews of the eminent delegates from the field of art and literature.

The Cell for Visual Arts organized a special screening of the film ‘Akhri Aansu’ for the teaching and non teaching staff of St. Xavier’s College on December 10, 2018 at the Seminar Hall. The film is directed by Pritesh Patil, Third Year B.Sc student of St. Xavier’s college with crew mostly form college. The film was well received in spite of the fact that Pritesh had no formal training in film making and that was the testimony to the fact that you can do anything as long as you have the passion, focus and support.

Principal Dr. (Fr.) Jeronimo D’Silva appreciated the team for their hard work and dedication and he said he hoped to see more films. Pritesh Patil in his interaction with the audience introduced his cast and crew member and said, “The film was great learning experience and hard of one and half year”. The film is based on a simple love story with a twist.
