Students attend 7th Anniversary of ‘The Goan Everyday’

The TYBA students of Department of Mass Communication and Department of Journalism of St. Xavier’s College Mapusa attended the 7th Anniversary of 3 Newspapers of Fomento i.e. The Goan Everyday (English Daily), Bhangarbhui (Konkani Daily) and Goan Varta (Marathi Daily) at Assemblia, Taj Resort & convention Centre, Dona Paula, Goa on 18th June 2022.
On this occasion, the Senior Executive Editor of India Today, Aaj Tak & Mumbai Tak Mr. Sahil Joshi was the Chief Guest and the Managing Editor of Boom Mr. Jency Jacob was the Guest of Honour.
The program included a Panel Discussion and series of talks by the dignitaries and Editors of all the media companies of Fomento Media.
Present on the occasion were Editor of Prudent Media (Konkani TV Channel) Mr. Pramod Acharya, Editor of Konkansaad TV (Konkan Region Marathi Channel) Mr. Sagar Chavan, Editor of Goan Varta Live (Marathi News Channel) Mr. Kishor Naik Gaonkar, Director of Fomento Media Mr. Joe Luis amongst others.
The dignitaries spoke about need of fact checking in current times, emergence of Social Media based Journalism and the need to adapt to technology to enhance last mile reach. The program ended on the note to bring about the required changes in Goan media.
