The departments of Mass Communication and Journalism celebrated World Photography Day with great pomp and fervour. To commemorate the occasion, a photography competition on the theme ‘My India, My Pride’ was held.

The competition was open to all students and staff of St. Xavier’s College, which saw enthusiastic participation. Students and faculty across various streams sent in their entries, which were displayed in the lobby.

Mr. Salil Repal, SYBA Mass Communication, bagged the first place while Ms. Esha Talaulicar of FYBA Arts secured the second position. Expressing joy at winning, Mr. Repal said, “More competitions like this should be held as they give us a platform to exhibit our talent.”

Ms. Esha commented that “it was her first ever experience to participate such well-planned competition in our college and winning it has given me a booster to participated in the next one”. The event took place on 19^th August 2022 and attracted a lot of buzz, with the viewers appreciating the talent on display.
